Mileage difference

How much difference in fuel mileage do you guys see in a F-350 dually club cab towing a 5ver 4x4 and a 4x2?

I did a search and could not find anything.

When towing a 5'er, you're not likely to see any difference in mpg between a 4x2 and 4x4 PU. The drag created by the 5'er totally swamps the slight difference in mpgs that you'd see when running empty.

X2. Get the drivetrain you want, milage is not significant enough between the two.

I think I've only even seen three 2wd SD trucks of any kind in the last two years. Ones I remember were fleet service.

Get the 4x4. You'd be suprised at how often you would use it. Especially in and out of campgrounds and things sometimes.

I have a SD 4 x 2, 6.7. Has about 600 miles on it now. If I drive like grandma, the truck gets 21/22 mpg. Driving it with typical traffic it gets 18/19 mpg. My camper is not 5th, and weighs 7000 +/- was getting 16/17 in the north east la hills. And it has gobs of power when you need it. Hope that helps a little.
