Starting Issues

I'm having starting issues with my 7.3, I wait for the light to go out
to start it. When I try to start it up, it acts like the batteries are bad.
I just replaced them and the have good voltage. But if I start it without
waiting for the light to go out, then it will start up fine.

Check your batt. cables. All the connections have to be clean and tight. If the cable insulation looks burnt next to the connectors, you probably have corosion in the cable under the insulation. Does the starter spin faster before the light goes out than it does after it goes out?

Yes it will turn over faster and start up, if I do not wait.

What size are your batteries? These trucks call for at least 825 cold cranking amps, if I remember right. If your batteries are to small you could get this problem.
