My error, it's: E4TE

Many carbs in prior years have an F as the 4th digit in the ID prefix, but not in the 1980's. I edited post 10, now reads E4TE

While you're in here talking about carb kits ND:

You have any thoughts/opinions on new carb kits. I have the same carb as Broncoguy and purchased an over the counter kit. Been running well so far (high mileage durability would take years to test on my truck). Mike's Carburetor parts carries one as well.

Numberdummy: We've been burning E-10 for years, it's the US standard that they can put into any gasoline. They do not have to tell you it's got ethanol in the gasoline either in California, so knowing if you are burning pure gasoline, or E10 here is really impossible without a test kit.

Ethanol Labeling Laws - State by State Guide.

The government has been talking about increasing it to E-15 also.

Broncoguy48: My info says it's E4TE-FA.

I posted sources for the obsolete carb kit (post 10). I have no clue about new carb kits for older vehicles, cuz the only one I own is a 1934 Packard V12.

If people are lucky, they may be able to find (new) NOS carb kits for any Packard. I have a coupla spares, bought them decades ago when they weren't that hard to find.

Ah well that is different. That is meant to burn E85 or straight gasoline.

My concerns were the NOS Carb kit parts not being able to handle the ethanol in the gas. That fuel is more corosive of rubber and plastic parts than Gasoline. The newer kits are designed to handle it better, or so I have been lead to believe.
