speedometer setup?
HEY everyone, ok so heres what in dealing with: my 78 bronco on a 94 f350 frame, with the 7.3 diesel in it, and a 5 speed standard behind it. im trying to hook up gauges now and trying to figur out the best way to hook u the speedo. i would like to use the factory cable driven one thats in the bronco, but i understand that might not be practical. let me know what you think, im going to post in the bronco forum as well. thanks again

To use the speedo from the 78 bronco, you will need to use a pre 92 transfer case, as in the 92 and later speedos read from the rear axle. Your Bronco should have the 203 or 205 transfer case, which will bolt to the Zf5, but you will have to mod the linkage or the webbing on the case (cant remember which) to make it work. My 85 has a 208 case behind the zf I put in iit, I had to shorten the linkage to get the shifter to line up. A 1354, or a pre 92 1356 case should also work.
