I can't for the lift of me understand why they don't use a gasket on the cover. seems so simple, and no goop required.....wonder if its possible to make a gasket for this application?

I'm sure you can but the $$ of a gasket over the goop would be the difference. Hell making a gasket is easy we do it at work all the time. All you need is the material, a template and a razor (maybe a punch to make the bolt holes nice).

Is there room/clear the gears, at the bottom of the cover to "tap" and install a allen threaded plug, TO remove and drain oil at a later time.

I've read some guys use Felpro # RDS55394 as a gasket. Seems most use some flavor of RTV (perma tex)...

i have been reading the guzzles diff maintenance page and he says not to put to much of that additive in or to test and add untill right. is there any other reason apart for the diff hopping when turning sharp why it is needed. i myself wouldnt care much if the tyres hopped alittle. reason i ask is when looking up the oil grade and amount to use it stated to place 235ml friction modifier with the oil, i have purchaced 300ml and was told that adding the full 300 wouldnt hurt, but am now worried that adding even 235 might be to much as i want it to be nice and tight. what amounts have you guys added when doing a oil change if any.
cheers
