I changed out my fuel filters this weekend in an attempt to relieve an ongoing problem with power loss during exhaust regens. It seems that the engine is starving for fuel during this cycle.
Anyway after the filter change, air in the lines caused a "Low Fuel Pressure" warning and threw up the check engine symbol. The low fuel pressure has resolved itself but the "Check Engine" icon will not go away. Is there a way to clear this or does my "authorized" Ford Dealer have to do it? Thanks for any advice.
If you have an Edge Insight or similar device you could clear the CEL light unless there is still some underlying problem. Otherwise, you'll have to check in with your friendly neighborhood Ford dealer.
Thanks for the reply but it has now turned itself off without me doing anything. When I got in the truck to drive to the dealer it was off. I guess just the thought of going to the doctor cured it.

lol, your lucky, treathening my truck with a trip to the dealer didn't work last time I had a cel.
I have searched high and low without any luck for an answer to the following question:
What does it mean and how do I remove the semi transparent (never occurred prior) screen over trip 2 screen that states hold to reset. Even after resetting it is still there.
Edit: I remember reading about this a while back, but I can't find the answer today.
proper way to purge the air after filter change consists of cycling the key to on but not starting 6 times, each time letting the key remain in the on position for 30 secs

That may be the proper way but it didn't work. It took around 24 cycles to get fuel back to the engine. Any more suggestions?
