not sure whats going on, but for the last few weeks whenever i hit the gas on my diesel excursion (6.0) it makes a weird noise. only way i can think to describe it is.. it sounds like an accelerating semi . probably most undescriptive thing ever. but any help would be appreciated.
Welcome to FTE baller9409 Can you give us more specifics when this is happening. Truck warm or cold, up an incline, bucking snorting or evidence of black smoke.
To me what you described is when the truck is warm and the engine fan engages, it sounds like an old International truck fixed fan, very loud. If this is found to be what you are describing, we need a history on the engine, fixes and repairs.

happens pretty much all the time but usually when its warm, and no black smoke. but i blew the head gaskets last september and had it rebuilt in november. that time got the egr delete, new oil cooler, studs. thats pretty much it besides 6 alternators.
Check CAC Boots/clamps starting at turbo there are 4
Scan for DTC
And look into a ScanGaugeII
i got it scanned a few weeks ago and it said something about turbo underboost. and its still throwing it. also my ficm was dropping to 43volts under acceleration, but would rise back up to around 48. guy told me it would go bad but i still had a while

A FICM dropping to 43 volts or lower is indicative of one that is BAD, and WILL leave you on the side of the road somewhere sooner than later, so it would be wise to address this issue ASAP. Regarding the noise you are hearing, it definitely sounds like you have a leakage issue, either intake or exhaust side, between either the exhaust manifold and turbo (more than likely a cracked bellows on the y-pipe if that is the case), or on the intake end (ruptured hot side "elbow" rubber hose or cracked plastic cold side pipe if equipped as such would be the more common leaks). This would definitely be consistent with your P0299 turbo underboost code.

The Noise you here almost has to be a Leak ESPECIALY since you have a Turbo UnderBoost DTC
Smell any Exhaust in the Cab?????
Mike is right better get FICM Fixed before it takes out injectors Your 6 Failed alternator Have taken its TOLL on the FICM
Look into a DC Power alternator alternator you wont have this problem anymore

Send the FICM to ED
i have started smelling exhaust in the cab, and im going to have the ficm checked out again this week when i get the blue spring kit put in, and take that from there.
and sending it to ED will be the Cheapest and his MAIN GOAL is to make the customer happey 250-350.00$$ from ed
or
$$1000.00 for dealer to swap in a new Ficm but the new FICM from ford will still have the same weak Solder joints even being new
You can also ask ed about the FICM Tune he does
Having your FICM rebuilt is best because all weak componets are upgradded
a new FICM its new but still has all the Cheap electronics in it
Its only money I guess
Seriously look into a DC Power alternator there the Best of the Best and thats what killing the Ficm and injectors next
These trucks so Electronicaly controled Solid clean power is a MUST
