You've got garbage coolant in there bro! Fix it, before it takes the rest of your $$$ and you have $0 left to even do the ball-joints, brakes and tires.
As for the alternator..... DC Power is the way to go. If you continue going through alternators you will continue to blast through $1,100.00 F.I.C.M.'s and it will only be a matter of time before you add a $2,000+ injector job to your list of headaches.
im gonna take it to the shop tomorrow and if everything checks out. im flushing that coolant, i dont care if he hasnt had problems with it. if its broken again.. im glad i kept the reciepts for the engine rebuild lol
Lol.... No. You want to make sure it is ALL out if there or it will just contaminate the new Ford Gold coolant or ELC.... Whatever you are going to be putting in there. Most guys flush the system 3-5 times with tap water (or distilled) and then another 2-3 times with distilled water. Even more if there is still crud coming out or the water still looks cloudy/colored.
You also want to use distilled water when refilling with your coolant to ensure no additional minerals/chemicals are added to your new coolant. I am going to be using Cat ELC for my coolant system when the time comes. One thing however is definite.... get that green crud out quickly.
Maybe it was just overfilled the Coolant that is and thats why it puked alittle or the white stuff
My Truck will puke some out till it hits the leval in your PICTURE then Im good tpo go
Get the green out sure stuff a hose in it but the fastest way is to pull thermostat and do a few Flushes that way so you get all of it out its going to be in the Heater Core and everything else so it not going to be as simple as open drain plug and stuff a hose in the fill cap/Port
A hose wont push out the Heater Core or OIl Cooler and EGR Cooler it will miss alot IMO with just a hose in it
Pull thermostat and do it right
I would even use cleaners to wipe the chemicals from the green coolant off the Metal and have a Fresh start I use ELC so far so good
