2012 Escape Audio Upgrade time
I bought a new 2012 XLT as my previous 2001 was in an accident. I had the MACH audio before with an aftermarket HU, and I loved the sound. This new escape has SYNC, as I found it to be a great feature in my fiances fusion, but her car had the 6 speaker upgrade. This escape has the base 4 speaker system, and the sound quality is pretty much garbage compared to what I had become accustomed to.
Long story short, is there a good amp setup I should be considering for the 4 speaker replacement, and/or combined with the addition of a subwoofer? The guy at this audio install place told me using an amp with SYNC is not recommended, as the SYNC HU doesn't put out the greatest quality sound. He also said a woofer is my best upgrade possible. I'm considering some kicker 6x8s for all 4 doors, and these are rated 2-50 watts. How will these sound on SYNC HU, and does anyone know how many watts SYNC puts out right now? This is all new to me, so any help is much appreciated. I was also considering some powered woofers at 50-100 watts, but I don't know how good these would sound. By comparison, does anyone know how many watts the woofer on the old 300 watt MACH system I had before was?
thanks again folks!
