I finally found a way to make good use of the massive space in my console. I found some plastic carrying totes with dividers that are used for carrying things say to the shower in a dorm or when camping. I found some small ones at the dollar store, and all I did was hacksaw off the handle and it fits under the tray, and it gives me some nice divided compartments to keep things organized as opposed to one jumbo pile. It is unfortunately either blue green or orange for color choices, but you never see it unless you are looking in the console so I am happy with it. Thought I'd pass this idea along to others who may want to make better use of the massive console space.
Do you have a photo? You can always paint the trays. I'm going to use aluminum and fabricate one but I would be curious to see what yours now looks like. Thanks.
I found some small rectangular trays that fit perfectly in the bottom that now gives me either 4 or 5 compartments for items in the bottom of mine. They are dark gray and I got them at Bimart, an employee owned store chain in the NW.
I will also try to get a picture.
