Yes, Motorcraft or NTZ. NTZ makes the filter for mc and can be bought on line much cheaper.

 

replacement for FT 145...is that correct

Transmission filter- the inline one up by radiator:
Ford 3C3Z-7B155-BA
O-ring for housing:
3C3Z-7J126-AA
You'll loose about 8 or 9 quarts, (1/2 your trans fluid) if you pull the plug on the pan. I replaced with mercon SP (synthetic) the LV (Dino) is acceptable also and a little cheaper.
Total cost for me at the dealer parts counter $107.97.

 

cant i just remove the filter and put new one back on without losing that much fluid...

Sure, but it's a good opportunity to Change out half your fluid. You'll loose less than a quart just changing the filter.

 

NTZ-09-C09B $12.99 from dieselfiltersonline.com is identical to motorcraft FT145.

 

And just changing the filter will cost you 8 oz. of fluid.
