You can run this stuff in a tractor? What has to be done to it to make that work?
Filter, dewater, and mix with enough diesel fuel or kerosene to get the viscosity to where your injection pump and injectors are happy. No different than running it in any other (indirect injected) diesel.
Yes, flainn knows better than I, but I do burn it in my utility tractor, a 3 cylinder yanmar diesel. I run about half off road diesel and half transformer oil. I only use my tractor about 100 hours/year so I'm never going to use all this oil.
This transformer oil is similar in viscosity to mineral oil. It's pretty thin.
How much do you charge to deliver this oil if we met in South Carolina? Say Greenville or Due West or Coronaca? Do you have a way to unload and transfer to my trailer?
My warehouse in in greenwood. I live in coronaca, right by the piggly wiggly.
The oil is in 55 gal drums, I have a forklift at my warehouse but we could wrestle the barrels from my trailer to yours, I'd be willing to do just about anything to make a deal go through. I'd be happy to deliver as long as you're willing to pay a fair price for the oil.
Make me an offer and tell me what you need in the way of transport or delivery. I'm going to Nashville on Monday and won't be home until Wednesday evening.
I am concerned your transformer oil may contain carcinogens which cause cancer. The handling of it or breathing the exhaust is risky.
I spent some time in my electrical career draining transformer oil and replacing with newer safer type.
To be safe, you should check into that before using. Don't want any of our Forum brothers to get sick.
Tom
It easily can. I talked to a decommissioning company. They get contaminated oil in all the time that requires them to notify the EPA. sometimes the levels are as high as 900,000 ppm.
Why are you placing the responsibility on me? Go ask whatever company near you and find out. I have no idea what your local company has that they are telling you about and I'm not there. What in the world do I have anything to do with your local company and their oil that they are warning you about?
Why is it so hard to understand that all I want to do is offer some good clean burning oil to someone that could use it. I don't need all this EPA and carcinogen garbage.
