Got a trunk load of parts for the Mustang today... PI heads, PI intake manifold, intake plenum, PI cams, and miscellaneous parts to do a PI head swap on my '96 Mustang. Got the parts from a buddy of the guy I bought the car from, the connections resulted in getting the parts for about 1/4 or less than what they're actually worth. I still need to get all the gaskets and some other small parts, then find the time to do the swap. This swap should bring me close to 300hp I believe. Accepting experienced help on this task... :P
Ordered some subframe connectors this morning as well, that should stiffen it up nicely, also, Kenne Bell has been put on my speed dial for late fall once the house is done. That will be an expensive upgrade, but should net a end HP of at or over 400hp to the rear wheels...
I also have the dealer looking for a newer Mustang 5.0 for me, but I think it'll be a while before they drop to my price range...
Thought I seen a few kijiji adds that you were selling that car?
If you are keeping it, sounds like you have a fair bit planned for it.
Yes, I have thrown it on Kijiji, more fishing than anything. We really enjoy the car but it doesn't have the proper child seat anchor locations in the back seat. I've been watching for a good deal on a newer one that has the anchors, but until then I'll keep and play/build what I have. Local dealer has been looking for me also. They seem to think that they can get me a 2011 5.0 for the low 20's...I don't think thats possible, but if it does...

Possibly, but I feel it's different My fear with a Classic Mustang was that in order to drive it on a regular basis, I would have to "tinker" and fix/adjust things. Not by choice, but out of necessity. With this "newer" car, for the moment any "tinkering" I do is purely for fun and not because I need to in order to enjoy the car...
pretty much my mindset... Not enough sucks, there is never enough, and too much is just right...
Some bad news though, word from some mustang gurus is that I can't safely put the Kenne Bell on my car after I do this PI swap. The PI swap bumps the compression up from 9:1 to 11:1, and adding forced air to that would cause catestrophic engine damage and failure of the pistons and/or connecting rods... Oh well...I'll stick to bolt on parts and still achieve over 300hp... Oh ya...ordered my 3.73 gear set and install kit today?
Got the gears done (right the 2nd time), thats about it. I don't want to tear into the motor until weather turns poor as it will be down for more than a couple days with the extent of my plans. Probably do a few simple things over the summer/fall before tearing into the motor. Subframe connectors are here, I'll try to get a shop to weld them in this week...
