I have a 97 F250 7.5 that I just tore down the front diff and replaced all the seals, berings, joints, ball joints, etc. This was my first time into the twin beam Dana 50, not bad to work on, but not for the faint of heart. The guy who invented the Snap-On ball joint press deserves the Nobel peace prize. For those of you who like to wrench on your rig, this is an absolute must have tool. Worth every penny they ask for it. Buy one. I have been buying tools for almost 40 years and this is one of the better buys. BTW, this is my first Ford and mama bought this for me to play with and I am quite impressed with the heavy duty construction. I have always owned GM and I just learned the meaning of the word respect. This truck is a cherry that has been babied. Regular cab and looks new inside and out. Considering long tube headers and a built E4OD for the next project, just for grins. The 460 is a thirsty beast so I won't waste any money trying to change it's appetite, I'll settle for making it tougher.
I have not used the Smap-On ball joint press specifically, how ever I did use the rental one from Advance last month when I redid the front end on my 92 F-250 4x4 and it did make the job ver easy and quick
The Snap-On ball joint press is built like a tank. Even has a grease fitting on the frame for lubricating the screw. I bought a Mac branded OTC set and it's done everything I've asked so far, but I bent a similar one doing the ball joints on my truck.
