I cannot license my 1936 Ford pickup because the DMV states that I must give the weight of the truck. It must be in writing in a manual or some official/respected document ot be accepted.
I have searched the internet and have found info down to the most miniscule details about the truck ....except for what I need. The gross weight of the stock 36 ford truck.
Yes, I know I can go have it weighed on a scale but cannot believe that the info is not readily available....Can anyone help me out?
Sorry I can't help you with the info you need but you might post a request in the 48-56 forum. This forum doesn't get the traffic that one does and what you're looking for is someone with access to the GVW of the vehicle. Those guys know their stuff and have some great resources at their fingertips. Either they will have access to it or point you to someone that does. Good Luck.
Don't know about your state but in CA you just go to a certified scale and get a weigh slip to take to the DMV. Been a while since I had to do it for my '40 1 1/2 ton but it cost less than 10 bucks. The DMV won't take your word for it, you need a certified weight slip. Even if your DMV doesn't require a certified weight ticket it shouldn't be too hard to get the truck weighed.
Welcome to FTE, hope you find the info you need here. Try call an old Ford place. The weight might be listed in the owner's manual..these manuals are available in reproduction for around ten bucks.
