oooh in that case I would change my fuel filters first, if you have over 10,000 miles on them of good fuel. Again stay away from the dealer. About $80 for both filters at the dealer and I get mine right from the local international dealer for $37. bpounds gives awesome advice also!

If I recall it ran rough even when warmed up. I just remember it started up without hesitation but then quickly becomes rough but drives normal. My neighbor saw me dinking with it satrday night and said he didn't even notice it was running funny. Just giving an example of how minor the rough is

Okay, so it is very minor, and possibly when hot or cold.

I would check that FICM first.

If that checks okay, then I would change the oil to a 5W/40. Recommend Rotella T6 from Walmart. See what happens.

Next I would try some Rev-X oil treatment. See what happens.

Those are all things you can do yourself inexpensively.

BTW, is your coolant level holding where it should be?

That's not likely the problem, but it is something to eliminate.

Low fuel pressure sure caused my rough idle problem, of course it did so after it took out one of the injectors. I am in the camp that says you need the blue spring upgrade, it's not an option or put it off till later. Of course, that's because mine cost the dealer over $5K to fix, at the end of the day...

Read up on injector "stiction".

Make sure your oil is clean and I would recommend a 5W40 synthetic oil. Even then you might have to try an additive (Archoil or Rev-X). After that, it could be time to replace an injector.
