Oil Pan

after inspecting my oil pan there is some "soft" spots in it and since the engine is out of the truck and on the stand i'm going to replace it does anyone know what i'm supposed to use for a gasket i know they don't have a real gasket and they use a sealant but which stuff do i use? i know that ford makes some but that doesn't always means that its the best and id really hate to put the engine back in the truck to find out that i messed it up. any help would be much appreciated thanks.
