When the wife and I went on our honeymoon last October, we got a free upgrade on our rental car and ended up with a brand new 2012 Taurus. Only had 100 miles on it so I think we were probably the first people to rent it. That was definitely one nice ride. It was the first car I had driven with the paddle shifters on the steering wheel, which was kind of cool even though I didn't really get the hang of it in the few days we had the car.
One Taurus I wouldn't mind having is a 92-95 SHO.

The original SHO may become a costly collectable after this:

'92-'95 is better looking imo.

I had a 1999 Taurus station wagon from 1999-2010. I loved that car to death. It very reliably and economically moved my family all around the east coast. Both of my daughters learned how to drive in that car and I eventually gave it to my oldest daughter who drove for another 2 years.
My Taurus was one of the most trouble free cars that I've ever owned. It had the 3.0L 24V engine. 22 mpg mixed and 29 on the highway.
