noise identification? (video)

what does this sound like to you? power steering pump? truck only has 61k and im replacing stuff left and right.. now i have this screeching whine whenever i turn the wheel at all

Power steering. Try flushing. If that doesnt work, replace the pump, dont think its the pump because RPMs are stable, but that doesnt mean its not the pump, just that the fluid might do the trick.

Yes when I turn the wheel rpm drop from about 700 to 500-525

flush the fluid. my 02 did the same thing, and i had no power steering at idle stopped. did a fluid flush and everything is back to the way it should be.

i ain't gonna lie, i had ford do it when the did the oil change. so i am not sure what goes in there.

If the RPMs do drop then it might be the pump, but still change the fluid first.

screamed like a cat with it's tail stuck in a rat trap, would not turn the wheels, but with the torque of the diesel, it did not effect the rpm. that i noticed.

Use Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. Keeps it really quiet.

Flushed with Mobil 1 ATF, noise is gone

yea going to synth fluid in the PS pump seems to cure all of the problems most people have with the steering.

from low boost/assist and noise .

good to hear it worked.
