Hi,
For reasons having to do with my personality quirks, I'd like to get a good universal remote -- for no more than $100.
The problem I've found with almost all of them is that they don't like the idea of 2 or more devices of the same type (tv, vcr, dvd, etc.) They think one of each type is enough -- or so it seems. Claims to the contrary, I've never been able to get 'audio' or 'aux' to do what I want. I am reasonably fluent in electronics -- although I don't stay up with the myriad details of the latest tech.
I'm sure that I could get an iPhone/Android app that would make my llife wonderful -- but I don't want to do that.

I have a Harmony remote from wal mart. I can turn on all or one item at a time. I think it was around 25 bucks. It hooks to your computer and you can decide what buttons you want to use to control each function.
It worked so well, I got one for my folks. Dad loves it. Sure saves on the clutter of having 4 remotes.
