Identifying GPR

Hey guy's I have an early build new to me 99 F350 it was built early in 98 but to get to the point I was checking my GPR or what I believed was my relay and it shows battery voltage on one side, key on has 12v at the trigger and you feel/hear it click when the key cycles but it doesn't close the relay because the other post never shows voltage. I was reading the forums and everyone says not to confuse it with the AIH relay I've even seen pictures of the two mounted on the intake but on my truck I only have one relay on the intake, there is a relay mounted on the side of the passenger fender.

Do y'all have any input for me?

Early 99's didn't have an AIH(Air Intake Heater) so you will only have the GPR.

The relay will have 12V at the coil at all times, the PCM adds the ground to energize the coil and pull the contacts in.

Sounds like you need one though.

Early 99 does not have an air intake heater so there is no AIH relay.

Sounds like you need a new GPR. This is what my stock GPR looked like at 82K. It was operating but the contacts were so pitted it would not pass any voltage.

I installed a Stancor relay. LINK They are about half the price of a stock OEM and at least twice as large.

Thanks guys, I figured as much that's why I made sure to specify early '99.

I'm going to replace it and see if they start working or if I need to keep on moving down the line, can I expect to hear the injectors cycle like on my old 6.0L?

Don't know what you mean by "can I expect to hear the injectors cycle like on my old 6.0L?" but the only time you can hear the injectors cycle on a 7.3 is when doing a Buzz Test.

You should ohm out the UVCH to tell if the GPs look good.
