GPR / AIH relays

Alight fellas, my gpr led didnt light up this morning. So i'm guessing my gpr is bad. I'm letting "cool down" right now, to see if the light appears again, or voltmeter it..etc. IF it is dead/bad, i want to use the AIH relay for in its place, since mines gutted. Any of you know what wires go to what post? The relay for the AIH is actually "taller" than that of the GPR. Not to worried about that, since i've read that i can use this relay in the GPR location.

Really it doesn't matter. The two large posts are separated like a switch. The smaller posts are the power and ground for the relay. Since the relay always has 12V, but gets the signal when the ground is applied, it will work regardless.

This should help you out.
GPR and AIH Relay Wiring.pdf
Both relays share the same power supply and ignition feed. The only differences are the outputs to the glow plug wiring/air intake heater and the wires that control the relay grounds from the PCM.

Thanks Ken. I just went out and volt tested the "legs". The wire that has the covers on each are hot with key off. The other big legs get energized along with the little ones, when key is turned, however NOT the leg that is for the G.P. Either the truck is still up to temp for it not to kick on or the relay is bad. I'll check it in the morning....

Swap the violet/orange wire over to the AIH relay where the violet wire is removed and move the GP wires, then you should be good to go.

Sorry for the confusion. I was going by the colors on the schematic.

no worries, gonna swap the relay/wires around, today. Just fired truck up, and the LED flashed real quik, then when out, so think its time for the relay, and a STANCOR to be ordered...
