OIL LIGHT CONCERN
I have an 08 F350 and lately every time when i start my truck the oil symbol will come on where the milage would be, then it goes away. This has been happening off and on for about 4 months now and i'm not sure whats going on or if it is a warning sign that my high pressure oil pump is going out. Any ideas?

Not sure if yours is a diesel or if it matters, but did you happen to change the oil filter about 4 months ago? I have a '08 F350 dually PSD and started getting the oil pressure light for about 1 second after startup after doing an oil/filter change. Turns out my oil filter cap was a disposable WIX instead of the original/motorcraft. Apparently when you use a WIX cap with a Motorcraft filter, you get the oil pressure light briefly after startup. I'm not sure how much damage is done in this 1 second, but after replacing the WIX cap with a motorcraft (thus matching up with the filter), I stopped getting the oil light. If you're only getting the light for a second or so at startup and you changed the oil shortly before the problem showed up, you may check to see if your oil filter and cap match.

Yeah i changed it about 1k miles ago, but it continues to happen even up to the next oil change. It does only come up for a second just like your truck. I'll look into changing to oil cap and see if that doesn't help out. Thanks!

The WIX cap will have "W" stamped into it near the top. It will also have "do not reuse" stamped into it. You have to really look to see it though. Bought mine used and didn't realize previous owner had a WIX filter/cap in it. Good luck!
