My First CEL on 6.7L

Coming home from Myrtle Beach while towing my travel trailer (loving the towing capablities of this truck) this past Sunday the cel came on. I unhooked the trailer and didn't drive my truck for about 4hrs that day. The light did not come on. On Monday, coming home from work the light came on and stayed on. Today I went to the dealer and now my truck sits for three days waiting for an exhaust fluid pump. Dealer was nice to provide a rental for those day. My truck has 17400 miles and very discourage that my truck has a problem this soon. Anybody else have exhaust fluid pump issues?

No I search around and theres some comments on allowing the def tank to get too low can cause the pump to loose prime and can damage it and then it has to be reprimed and then reentered into the message center. But other than that I have only seen pressure sensor issues on the exhaust.

I will keep looking

Just wondering, would it hurt the truck to drive with this CEL? Know the EPA would not like it.....or does the truck reduce power and shut down by itself........?

Good Question.

I would think that a malfunction in that area would be just like running out of DEF. But I dont know.

Dealer told me since I ride a total of 60miles a day to and from work, they suggest me to have a rental. The reason was with the loss of DEF (forgot to mention had a leak as well from the pump) could cause a significant loss in power.
