1st transmission blew the front pump seal and overheated at 160,000 miles pulling my work trailer up a fire access road. Had it rebuilt by a local shop. Started slipping 20,000 miles later and warranty was only 1 year or 12,000 miles. At 190,000 miles the front u-joint of the rear driveshaft broke loose at freeway speeds and destroyed the rear driveshaft and cracked the transmission bell housing 3/4 of the way around. I fixed the u-joint and drove the truck 250 miles home pulling my work trailer very slow. Insurance company replaced transmission and rear driveshaft with a new one from ford.
What are you doing and or what mods do you have to destroy rear axles ?

Just turned 161616 miles this weekend. the # of miles per year has dropped from about 25-30k to around 5k, been using a Honda Element as a commuter and for the snow.

The EX gets one long run each year, wife and I go to Martinsville VA for the NASCAR race each fall, we will be leaving this coming Friday am, the EX is ready

The 4R100 tranny & converter is original and surprisingly still going but I hold my breath and take it easy on her considering I run a Hypertech tuner in level 1 and tow with it all the time.
317,000 now. Still complete original drivetrain. Since my last post, I’ve replaced the water pump, thermostat, both batteries and a total change of all fluids. Been an amazing truck and keeps going

late to the Thread.
bought the truck July 2022 with 171k miles on it, it is a retired fire truck, so probably a lot of Idle hours on it.

today, it has been very good to me, no downtime for problems that I did not make on my own.
Installed fuel sump kit, and some door moldings, and tracking down water leaks, stuff like that.

the odometer is about 177,400ish today.
