Rolled 250,000 yesterday on my 2002 Limited 4x4. Injectors and glow plugs done once at 190k and a fuel bowl rebuild (i did) and that's about it per all the records dating back to new. Oil changed every 5k. The 4R100 tranny & converter is original and surprisingly still going but I hold my breath and take it easy on her considering I run a Hypertech tuner in level 1 and tow with it all the time.

My factory tranny / torque converter made it 361,800 miles before going out. I know I'm one of the few lucky ones but I have crazy OCD when it comes to maintenance. At every other oil change (10,000 miles) I would drain the pan and refill. I never had the entire system flushed. In addition to the DieselSite external tranny filter, I've run nothing but Amsoil in it since 59,000 miles when I bought the Ex. I also tow a 13,000# boat and 10,000# Travel trailer all the time. I even beat the odds by running a Superchips 1705 for about 200,000 miles before getting my Hydra.
Knowing what I know know about PHP and their tunes, I wish I would have switched much sooner but such is life.
I'd just keep up with maintenance and fresh fluid and start a savings account for a new one.

My 2000 limited 4x4 7.3l just turned over 250k last week. She is still going strong. I need to fix a leaking pedestal and reseal my fuel bowl. Small issues really I just want to take care of them.

LOL. I wish. 1st axle went out prematurely at 90,000 miles don't know the cause, 2nd one was used out of a f-250 with 180,000 miles went out around 170,000 miles, and the 3rd one is out of an f-250 with 60,000 miles still going strong.

1st transmission blew the front pump seal and overheated at 160,000 miles pulling my work trailer up a fire access road. Had it rebuilt by a local shop. Started slipping 20,000 miles later and warranty was only 1 year or 12,000 miles. At 190,000 miles the front u-joint of the rear driveshaft broke loose at freeway speeds and destroyed the rear driveshaft and cracked the transmission bell housing 3/4 of the way around. I fixed the u-joint and drove the truck 250 miles home pulling my work trailer very slow. Insurance company replaced transmission and rear driveshaft with a new one from ford.

Updating; rolled 272,000 today. Still stock aside from a Hypertech tuner left in level 1, a 4 inch exhaust and a 18 inch wide, ten row Trucool trans cooler. Changed the trans fluid at 266k and nothing in the pan other than usual clutch dust so i guess its gonna go past 300k with stock tranny. I do have a front axle seal leaking though.......

412k here, 02 limited... I purchased from the original owner just a month ago, however, I personally drove it home from the dealership when he bought it new back in 02 and have driven it ever since. Oil cooler at 100k, and I just replaced the hpop lines and pass fuel line, otherwise, everything else is factory except for starter and alternator...
