Hi all! I closed my business last fall and retired. I thought I would retire from the truck hobby so I decided to sell everything I had collected over the years and my last 65. Well, I sold a lot of stuff, but no one wanted the Gator Getter in pieces so I decided I'd rebuild it. I had a shortbed frame so used that along with the real low mile 390 I had and rebuilt a C6 to put behind it. Any way this is getting too long....I have pics of the build, so far, in my garage if you want to take a look.
Hi Allen. I'm thinking I'll keep this one seeing as how it will probably be the last one I build. But I thought that about the last one too! Give me a call or stop by, I'm usually home now. I have not seen your truck yet, bring it over. Or the big block Ford.
Glad to hear ya still got the passion to build one. I've been getting kinda burned out; building one right after another. Hopefully the one I have now and one more with be it for awhile! (Sounds like I'm a addict).

I do know what you mean about burn out, but I only have one 66 that I work on, but other projects, so when I get tried of one I move to the next. The 66 has just been sitting in the shop sense last year and we worked on the 76. It is now in Portland, so I have been on thee SHO's. I have had the 66 sense 1979.
Mitch, still have the passion but the the body is whining! It took awhile to get motivated after retirement tho. Not complaining, I love retirement!! Got the drivers seat, amp and subs back in yesterday.
What's not to like? Six Saturdays and a Sunday :-)
I know! But I still set there on Sunday afternoon thinking oh no the weekend is almost over. Then I remember.......it doesn't matter!!!!!!!
Truck projects are a lot quicker when you have 7 days a week to work on them instead of 1!!!!!
What's the tire combo size? any modification to the bed needed?
245/60-15 on the front
295/50-15 on the back
I'm putting a flatbed on it so the only modification is to make it shorter and adjust the mounting points. I had the wheels on a snb and they did stick out but my son put them on his 65 swb. The lip was rolled in and they worked fine. What bed do you have? Of coutse you can always narrow the rear axle.....
