Well...
Carried my truck yesterday to a local mechanic and was havin them put the leveler on.
After 4 hours, he comes back in, tells me he hasn't seen any like this one. It's offset, instead of being centered on each other. Then says they've done every thing they could to get the strut back in once they got the spacer on and it just would not go. They do leveling kits often, but never an autospring.
So I called the company, they said he's apparently not doing things right and I needed to take it to another mechanic. So I asked him to please put my truck back together like it was, and we'd back up and punt.
He did, with no charge, which was a good thing since they did nothing, but as I'm driving home I now have a "rattle" in the front end when I hit rough roads.
I'm planning to take it to the ford dealership this week to see if they can 1) fix what is wrong, and 2) get the kit put on. Anyone else had any issues with installation??
The Autospring spacers are side specific and are marked that way. I'd check to make sure the next guy understands which side is which. The instructions are pretty explicit about the markings.
The instructions for the Autospring kit says on the 2009-10 F150s to use a bottle jack between the lower control arm and the upper strut tower to get the struts back in.
When I did mine, the pass side went in without too much fuss. The drivers side was a pita. I didn't use a bottle jack but I did use a 4' prybar and coil compressors, even then it was tight. I was considering notching the lower CA but I finally got it. As for the rattle, get that looked at asap. They don't have something tight. What kind of LK's do they "specialize" in? I'm not at all a mechanic but I figured it out, I'd say I'm mechanically inclined at best.
Mine needed the pry bar on the driver's side as well, but really wasn't that bad. Concur with getting that rattle checked ASAP. Lots of stuff that could be loose there, any of which could lead to a major problem.
They probably didn't get the sway bar tight enough.
Nailed it on the sway bar linkage. They loosened that on the passenger side, for some reason, and didn't tighten it back up.
Dropped it off at the dealership yesterday and they had it on in a couple hours. Looks great! Still running the factory tires on it, but once they wear down, which shouldn't be too long, I'm looking at upgrading. I appreciate all the info guys!
I put some 33" 12.50 BFGoodrich All Terrains on my 2010 with a leveling kit. I like it because it sits up higher but not so high that I cant get into parking decks.
I just did a 2" front leveling kit (ready lift) with 3" rear blocks. I'll be running 315/60r18 which is pretty close to 35" but I had to order new rims with a +0 offset. I had the tire shop fit 315/70R17 on the factory rims but it was rubbing on the control arm at full lock, and only 1/4" away from the upper ball joint. Too close for my liking. I'll post pics when its all done.

315/60/18 is just under 33"
315/70R17 is almost 34.5"
Anywho... post pics when you're done. I always enjoy looking at big trucks with big tires.

I run 295/70-18 Nitto Terra Grapplers- 34.4"x11.4 on my stock chrome clad wheels and the same amount of lift as you with no issues, just for comparison
I must have been mistaken on the tire size then cause they size they told me they'd ordered was going to be the equivalent of 34.7"... They're Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's, don't know if that makes a difference or not... On edit, yes, the tires I ordered are the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs in 325/65R18, size of 34.8 inches. The tires I have on right now are the same make/model but in a 285/70R17, measuring 33"...they fit on the stock truck with minimal rubbing on one side mudflap only. They look good on there with the leveling kit, but I want bigger rubber
