Here are my plans for my newly aquired 94 F250 7.3 IDI Factory Turbo 180,000.
New bb injectors, 3" downpipe to 4" straight pipe, Stud the heads and turn the boost up (15-20psi), with a hypermax intake. Pyro, boost and trans temp gauges as well.
Does this spell disaster, or should it be a pretty solid setup? I live in a mountainous region but haul much. A dirt bike is usually my biggest load.
sounds good. you will need an intercooler for those boost numbers though. do a search on here for inter cooler installs. there are a bunch of threads and good info.
Have you installed your studs yet? Did you pull the heads and do gaskets at the same time or just replace the studs one at a time?
Pull the heads and do the gaskets while you're in there. No point in doing studs and expecting old gaskets to survive with boost they're not used to. That, plus swapping them one at a time will leave debris in the hole, and won't torque down correctly. There is a very specific torque sequence to follow.
I did mine up to 110ft lbs, just looking for a turbo now.
