Coolant temp going crazy

Thanks for the help guys. I popped the hood and poked around for a minute, reseated the connection and all is well. Didn't see any chaffing, but I only looked for a short time. Its too hot here, and the truck is hot from driving around. Had a trip to the hardware store and some other running around and temp readings are back to 190s. Glad this is all over, when it first happened I thought my oil cooler was taking a dump. Then the next time I drove the temps were ok. Been like that for the past week. Thanks again.

You will get better help with a thread Titled EGT or whatever
Everyone coming to this thread will reply about ECT
but your EGT sender is BAD OK to drive truck
