I was thinking about re-routing my CCV hose into 4 hoses, and routing those to each body panel roughly over the wheels, too fill the panel with oily vapour and prevent rust.
I've been pouring oil into the panels, and doors, and floor, but it's hard to get it over the wheels wells.
I'd vent it into the floor or doors too, but that might lead to terrible gasses getting inside the truck, lol.
I dont know where you live so many rust is an issue, but there are better ways to prevent rust. This method seems sloppy to me. You will have oil everywhere.
The smell will likely get to you, or get to your friends and family... that is, if they will even get near your truck any more.
Venting to atmosphere upwind of your cab will put you downwind of all that smelly oily mist that will waft it's way out of the fenders and into your rolled down windows as you roll down the highway.
This is one scenario where the punishment of polluting the air is exacted the heaviest upon the polluter responsible. It will be your lungs that will be exposed the most to the air pollution of your own choice.
It certainly is sloppy, no doubt.
The oil I've been using so far is giving good results.
I don't know hoe much if any vapour from the hood area would get into the cab, these newer trucks seem to be exxcellent at not getting hood area aair inside.
