Hi all, I have a 2000 EB and I have a question about the black molding on the bottom of the windows. Mine is starting to discolort. It is becomin faded. Would some armor-all work on it?
Try a product called "Back to Black" from Mother's. Comes in a little red bottle, for about $6-8. I have a 97' with the same problem, and this stuff works well.
That is one thing I hate about newer cars, too much rubber and plastic parts. I wonder what a Chevy Avalanche will look like after 5 years (I beat the ArmorAll factory is gearing up production already).
By the way, my 2000 Expy had the same problem when the truck was just one year old! It's the only part on my truck that looks aged.
Be careful with Armor All. It contains Alchohol and will, after time, dry out the plastic. I had a Dodge Ram that I had used Armor All on the big black plastic mirors for about 3 years and if I didn't keep putting it on each time I washed the truck, they were white. I agree with the "Back to Black". It works better than Armor All.
I tried the "Black to Black" and was pretty impressed with the stuff. I agree with the reply about the Armor All above. It's good stuff but once you start using it don't ever quit. Parts dry out like crazy. It's only been a few days on the Mothers stuff but it made it black again and its been holding up nicely so far in the Florida sun.
So, since armor all contains alchohol, is it safe to say that it may not be good for the interior? I have heard people say that after time it will dry everything out.
I have a 2000 Expy and keep seeing the Navigators around town with the chrome under the windows where we have the black rubber. I think those chrome strips would look really nice on my black expy since I have the chrome rims too. Has anyone done this? or are the doors that different?
