My '08 F250, 5.4l, seems to have only low and high speeds for the climate control fan. First three positions are low and fourth spot is high. Is there a resistor pack somewhere that could be bad?
I just got an 04 and only had speeds 3 & 4 I had to change the blower motor resistor and the connector plug. When you pull the plug off the resistor you will know if you need a new one. It sounds like you need a blower motor resistor for sure. I don't know where your resistor is on an 08 on the 04 it is just to the right of the blower motor if you are standing in front of the truck, and it's red and white with a white plug going to it. there is a good write up somewhere if you just google you should be able to find it, if not let me know and I'll look and see if I can find it agian
Good call Mike
C297 Blow motor control switch is located on the plenum on the passenger side or right hand side about midway back towards the fire wall reached from inside the vehicle next to the pass. 1/4 panel.
The resistor C2185 id located in the same place essentially.
pull the glove box out
Disconnect the 2 heater core and evaporator core housing harness electrical connectors from the heater core and evaporator core.
Disconnect the blower motor resistor electrical connector. right hand side
Remove the blower motor resistor mount screws
Remove the blower motor resistor
replace and reconnect all.
Yea I thought I remembered seeing that you had to do the 08's from the inside. Also for the older trucks the resistor is different if you have manual controls (the ***** to adjust the settings) as apposed to the digital controls so that's something you may want to confirm before ordering the resistor.
