My 1990 F150 is really goofy...when I start it up after setting over night, the volgate guage set way on the low side. I can tell the system is not charging, as the flasher is slow, and the wipers drag badly. Then, after a few miles (sometimes more) the needle jumps to the middle of the guage and everything is fine.
If I shut it off for an hour or two, it works normally on the next startup....it only acts goofy when it has set a long while.
I suspect a screwed up voltage regulator, but I don't know if this is internal to the alternator or external....
It is a 300 I-6 with Auto and AC....and ideas???? Thanks
