OK Hear it is. I own a F-350 crew cab Diesel Dually,, big truck right. OK,, well the steering has been getting alittle tight, making noise now and then. then all at once in the middle of a turn the steering wheel locks up. well the bearings went bad in the top of the column.started calling around no one had anything that would work, went online rebuilt was 465 bucks. went to the junk yard for some other things.the man behind the counter said only these yrs and these models would enterchange with mine,,FOOY. from early 90 to 98 ??? any of the ford products are all the same except for steering eheel.YES I did say ford products. My column came out of a 98 Ford mini van. If they look the same on the outside they are identical underneath.accessaries like airbag ,overdrive button on shifter.are the only differences. bet you could even put a tilt wheel in a non tilt vehicle. SURPRIZE,,check it out all you shops.dont believe the computer or others for that fact
I just learned recently from the veterans here that all of these trucks have tilt columns. Some just don't have the adjustment lever and springs. Who'd have thought.
... the bearings went bad in the top of the column.
You didn't search hard enough. There is a TSB for upper column bearings going bad and a ford kit for $60 that comes with new upper bearings and other wear items.
