mass air sensor
hello everyone,
found this site and hope some one can help.
i need a new mass air sensor. the one in the van now is a 4 pin plug that goes into the sensor itself. part number f6df-12b579-ea. f meaning in the 90's era. the new sensor i have is a 6 pin. part number yc2f-12b579-ba. this is a 2000 era sensor. the pig tail from the 4 pin plugs directly into the 6 pin plug on the new sensor. i did not start the van though.
will the 6 pin sensor work? if not why. from what i have found is that the 6 pin is the new style and the 2 extra pins are the ones on the outside left and outside right for the IAC.. i do not need these because it is in my air tube to the throttle body.
are the pins in both plugs the same colors, location , and do the same thing except for the 2 outer which is the IAC? or do i need to repin.
need help to pass stupid emission test, and get the van running without chugging.
