Registration Costs?

I just had to register my 2002 X in Iowa for another year. I am curious what others are paying for registration (not tax). My 2002 X Limited 4x4 V10 cost me $248.50.

Tell us what X you have and what it costs.

Registration for new jersey 2005 v10 excursion is $71.50, I can't believe registration for you is $250, that's ridiculous, and new jersey is one of the highest cost of living in the states. Are you sure that didn't include tax or surcharge for something??????

no emissions inspection anymore they did away with that this winter. with the old inspection it would run you up close to $250.

Paid tax last year. Registration: $238.00 Plate fee: $10 (Veteran Plates) and other fees: $.50

edit: just found this: http://www.city-data.com/forum/gener...ive-car.html#b

Iowa is high. Not as bad as CO though.

Registration in WV is $30/yr. State inspection is $12 and change (can't recall exactly, but I've got one due this month). I don't know about property tax since it hasn't been assessed yet.

Mine is about $45 per year in Ohio. There is no weight stipulation, and the EX is considered a station wagon and thus is the same rate as a car.

Mine was $120 last November here in CA. I have 2002 V10 Ex.

The breakdown:
$69 Registration Fee
$41 License Fee
$10 County/District Fees

We do have smog checks every other year. You take it to a private business smog check place. Runs about $40.

NJ was cheap for car registration and gasoline, as I recalled when I lived there for 16 yrs. and moved to CA in 1997.

My Honda Civic registration was $45 or something a year. Back then, you had to get it inspected every year at a state inspection station (free of charge) and wait in line for HOURS on your one Saturday a year. Or, you could pay a shop to inspect it and have it done in a few minutes.

Other than those 2, everything else was darn expensive! Especially car insurance and property taxes.

...and you can't pump your own gas.
