Ok, got it to come out, both fittings came out Bad new is the threads were flattened in the process. I don't have a tap remotely near big enough to clean them up in the manifold, so not sure what I am going to do. Might try a wire brush on a die grinder, or buy a couple bolts the same size (if I can find them) to run in and out a few times. See if that clean it up. I guess worst case, I might be able to split the two fittings, run the bigger one back in and spot weld it to the manifold to keep it in.

IIRC, the threads in the manifold are a standard pipe thread size. assuming i'm right, you can easily find a tap for it at any hardware store.

i think it was either 3/4 or 1" NPT - i'm sure you can find a spare fitting or two laying around somewhere as a test fit, or even take the fitting you just removed to the hardware store for confirmation

I picked up the new tube today and brought it to the hardware store. no-go on ANY thing they had. is not NPT, and is not any "normal" size threads. It might be fine threaded metric, but that was one thing they did not have big enough to test. I am running a wire brush on the die grinder through it right now to see if I can clean it up any.

The old piece would have been no use, the threads were way to flat to have told me anything.

Edit: I did get it all together, just cleaned up the threads in the manifold as well as I could, and ran the new fitting in and out until it finally seated completely. It did round the threads over a little on the new fitting, so I am hoping it holds fine.

If you took your time as it sounds and it seems seated well, you're probably good to go. You'll know at start-up.

That's my standard. If it starts up and doesn't burst into flames, you passed step one.

I started it and it was fine for the 10 seconds I left it running. Thanks for the help,
