Is there some trick of the trade for removing an EGR valve? I need to replace mine, but when trying to take it off, it was so tight it felt like I was going to wring the whole thing off? Any suggestions?
I assume that you are talking about the hard line going to the EGR valve from the exhaust manifold? I used a MAPP gas torch (a propane one will work, just take longer) and I heated the flare nut for a while, then sprayed it down with lots of WD-40 until it stopped smoking. Then it broke free with no problem. Ditto for the other end at the exhaust manifold.

heat will probably work, i've been soaking mine with blaster everyday trying to get it loose but no results yet, I don't have a torch but may barrow one soon
The key is to shock it by heating it up then quenching it with WD-40. I love PB but not for this type of operation, as the solvents in PB prevent it from penetrating under heat as well as WD-40 IMHO. PB will work, but more of it vaporizes than actually sinks in. As a last resort, if the WD-40 doesn't work, heat the hell out of it then douse it with some synthetic motor oil. That stuff loves to creep in the heat. Use the thinnest stuff you can (0W-20 is best).
