I have a 2003 F150. When the temperature is hot outside and I have the air conditioner on the Gauge will sweep and the ABS light and battery light will go on. The battery gauge will go to high charge. When RPM is dropped (idle) or when the RPMs are increased to pass a vehicle, everything returns to normal. Power windows will not work but all other functions due. It will boil my battery if ran to long like this. I have changed the alternation and battery. Only happens in the summer? Suggestions?
Your giving a lot of symtoms that need to be investigated.
First, use a voltage indication device plugged into the power port on the dash to see what is actually happening to the system voltage.
In your discriptions, one is of low voltage then one is of high voltage.
Use the voltmeter to see what is happening then look for either a poor ground or an alternator/regulator issue depending on what you see happening with the voltmeter test.
Do maintaince on both battery cable connections and their other ends.
Check ground straps.
Since the problem is involving several systems at the same time, look at all the common elements first.
Good luck.
