Bonehead move
Manual hubs and transfer case. Got out this afternoon, unlocked the hubs, got distracted, and forgot to take the transfer case out of 4Hi. I pulled 14k 45 miles in 4Hi, hubs unlocked. The only thing I noticed is it seemed to run hotter, though it was 104 degrees here today. Did I do any damage?

No, everything should be fine as long as the hubs were unlocked.

Thanks. Still a pretty stupid mistake, but at least not an expensive one.

i've done this on purpose, unlock the hubs and throw it in 4-lo, so that i have the low gear but can still turn.
as others have said, no harm should come of it.
i'll share my bone headded move. In my defense, i was high on Zyrtec.

Nice! I do that on my boat fairly often. Nothing like that "freak-out, what now" moment replaced by the "how dumb am I" feeling. We just hope no one else noticed...

Nope youre fine. All that happened was the transfercase was moving. The only damage you did was use up some extra fuel. With the hubs unlocked the transfer case and is free to spin and do what ever it wants.
