I had a 2006 F150 that I loved and that was my daily driver. I was getting tired of the payments and gas expenses. So, I decided to sell it and get a "junker" truck and I bought an '06 Corolla for my daily driver.
This truck is exactly the style I was looking for. I was just looking for something to drive when I needed a truck. But, now I am in love with it and thinking about what I might be able to do to make it even nicer. I have some small things to fix: missing parking brake, exhaust leak, rear brake shoes. After that, I will probably start making cosmetic improvements. For one, I need some nerf bars because it is hard to get into, especially for my kids.
After that, I don't have specfic plans, but I would like to put some headers on it, new valve covers, wiring harness, etc. And inside the bed is pretty rusty and could use some work. Someday I'd like to paint it and put some new tires on it, but that will be years down the road. The interior leaves a lot to be desired.
Opinions are like round and square headlights, everyone has some of each, and some are better than others, lol.
Hit the JY for some newer model seats, up to a 96? should bolt right onto the 78 seat frame. Or put even newer model seats in it and a center console/arm rest.
BTW my sig truck is a 78 with swapped in 79 squares......you can get some NEW era correct (mount above the dent) side mirrors off ebay pretty cheap, or just keep running what you got.
