Spring over axle

thinking of doing a spring over axle conversion on 1988 F250. Some people firmly beleive it is dangerous and others say it is great, cheap way to lift. I here you sometimes have to get longer drive shafts and there can be a problem with wheel hop stressing the u-joints? What are your opinions, pro & con?

These trucks are already spring over axle. If you want to lift it, you need a lift kit.

Oh, sorry, I don't have it yet and was just trying to figure a way to get a couple of inches as cheap as possible.

If you want a cheap lift for the rear end, get the U bolts and blocks for the rear of an F350 for this same period of trucks. If you think it is still too short anyway.
