360 base timing
I picked up another 68 f100 the other day, 360 and a 3 speed on the floor, 9" with 3.50 gears. Plan is to make it a really tame little daily driver, I put an Edelbrock Performer and a 600cfm Holley 1850-2 (4160 type carb with vaccuum secondaries) that has a .110 needle and seat. Quickfuel "4 door" power valve, and clear sight glass plugs. Question I have is what is my base timing supposed to be? Otherwise except for a set of glass packs and 2.5" pipes this engine is stock.

I's start around 8 and listen for ping. Bump it up a couple degrees at a time until you hear slight ping on full throttle, then back it down a couple degrees. Factory specs are just a guide line any more since fuel was way different back then that it is now.
