Just in case anyone is in need of one, I recently ordered mine from Amazon. It is from Motorcraft, part number BRPV6. Amazon has it mislabeled as a "Vacuum Pump Fuel Filter" and the price is only $124, which is cheaper than I have found it anywhere else.

Sure did, I put it on the truck last weekend. I've ordered other parts from Amazon that had a goofy part description but the part number was right and the part turned out to be correct when I received it. The old pump I took off was stamped "REMFD" and the new one wasn't, so hopefully the bearings won't be toast in this one any time soon. I'm certain you could pick it up somewhere else for a cheaper price, especially eBay. However I needed the pump as soon as possible so I could get the truck running again, Amazon tends to have good customer service and very quick shipping times. I checked O'Riley's website and they wanted $244 for the same part.

VACUUM PUMP
MFG: (A1CARDONE) Part#: 64-1024 OREILLYS Limited Life Time Warranty $119.99
Just an FYI if your vacuum pump blows and you are in the middle of knowhere as I was last summer 50 miles outside of Barstow coming home from Vegas. Long story short I was able to use my spare belt and route a little different to bypass the broken pump/pulley. No power brakes but she'll run fine. Drove all the way home to Norther CA. If I remember right getting the pump is not too hard its getting the pulley mine was damaged when the pump failed.

Mike your a braver soul than I. Your sitituation sounds practical just so long as your not pulling a trailer. After my first time losing a pulley, tensioner I almost had to eat a bumper. I decided that wasn't gonna happen again.
After removing the old pulley's I just pressed out the old bearing's and replaced with new very good quality bearing's # S6203-2RS Stainless Steel Bearing 17x40x12 Sealed Ball Bearings $11.95ea. On long trips I keep a spare of each onboard tensioner, 8 rib idler, and the smooth idler along w/spare belt. As for the pulleys being hard to find I've never had a problem with that.
Serpentine Belt, IDLER PULLEY SMOOTH (Upper, no grooves) Same for Tensioner pulley.

*(Good Year) 4081190 AutoZone $37.99 (Good Year LifeTime Warranty) As per-Goodyear brand fan belts, bypasses, radiators, and heater hoses carry a limited lifetime warranty on the vehicle in which they were installed. Should any of these products wear out, as long as you own the vehicle, just return the part with your receipt to a Goodyear dealer and they will give you a replacement free of charge.
Thanks for the info. I am thinking of buying a VP/pulley to have in my truck as a spare I have had two pumps go bad. Looks like Napa has the pump but the pump pulley I am not sure? Do you by chance have a PN for the VP pUlley? When my pump went last year I did replace my idler and pulley as well as the top pulley.
OT it is possible to delete the vac pump using a sd tensioner and a obs belt since the differences between them is 2 inches i want to remove my vac pump since it isn't needed anymore i can power the climate controls with a electric pump from a 6.0 which i already have

Mike you don't need to replace the VP/pulley unless it's damaged, just remove pulley from old pump and install on replacement pump. Do not attempt to drive it on with a hammer or a conventional bottle jack press as you will push the pump shaft and rear bearing out the back of pump.
Get yourself one of these while on sale if not already aquired or any other suitable pulley installer/puller.You will need one to remove/install the vp/pulley as it is a press-on fit.
I have this one and it works great and you don't have to spend a fortune.
Pulley Remover and Installer Set (Sale price) $12.99 Pulley Remover and Installer Set
Save yourself some money don't throw away perfectly good repairable pulley's.
Keep these pulleys on hand and use as replacements when old fails.
Keep your old idler pulleys the bearings are the same size in all three pulleys ie.. tensioner pulley, upper idler pulley smooth, and lower idler pulley grooved and if not damaged take your old pulleys press out old bearing's and install very good quality bearing # S6203-2RS Stainless Steel Bearing 17x40x12 Sealed Ball Bearings or better. S6203-2RS Stainless Steel Bearing 17x40x12 Sealed Ball Bearings
When removing the old bearing's, and installing the new be sure and use appropriate press and lay pulley on a flat level surface and only press on bearing O.D. and not the center section I.D. as you will damage the pulley and or the new bearing if not done properly.
If desired you can place a small amount of bearing retaining compound around the flat O.D. of bearing, your choice. I've not used it yet and haven't had any problems, however your results may differ or vary.
All the pulley bearing failure I have seen on these usually occurs in the center section with the outter portion O.D of the bearing being left in tact in the pulley bearing seat. Unless the bearing has spun in the pulley seat and damaged it's retaining ability and no other damage to pulley is present these pulleys are reuseable by installing new bearings.
VACUUM PUMP PULLEY's
(Ford) F5TZ-2L487-A (94-95) crosses to (Ford) F5TE-2L487-AA (96-97) so both should be the same.
is it some trade secret that you couldnt just tell everyone?
No Ken, no trade secret I just figured most members wouldn't be interested to here about it. It's somewhat of a convoluted procedure while at the same time quite simple to accomplish. This is a MOD and not a rebuild procedure for an already destroyed pump caused by bearing failure. The pump housing, shaft and vacuum diaphragm pod must be in good working order to accomplish this MOD.
I didn't want to waste my time if no one's interested. Also don't want to get off topic or hijack OP's thread. Guess I should post this on a new thread. I'm pretty busy right now but in the next week or so I'll try to get this written up as clearly as possible with all the pertinent info and post in a new thread.
Stay tuned to FTE 94-97 PSD forum for future details.
Thank you for the additional info on the bearings, etc. I am going to order some today along with a new CP/Pulley to have as a spare then rebuild the pulleys as needed. It didn't dawn on me that the three pulleys are the same, great info.
