Well I have decided to try and tackle the universally hated fuel filter change. Wanted to go Motorcraft but no place other that the dealership has one in stock. The dealer wants $25 bucks for one. Are there any good aftermarket ones? Wix?
I don't pay alot of attention to brands on mine since I change mine yearly. Other people push the limits on theirs and drive several years on them. I have replaced fuel pumps because of clogged filters before and vowed nbever again.
A piece of advice though that I picked up in these forums somewhere and made the filter about 10 tyimes easier. Rather than fight the bracket as many of us have take the bolts loose from the back side of the filter bracket and drop the whole filter and bracket. When someone posted that in my fuel filter thread I almost fell out of my chair realising how many times I have cursed that filter holder.
Well I went ahead with the wix. Once I modified my tool to actually be 5/16" it was easy. As for taking the whole bracket down, not an option as my filter was beside my fuel tank.(dual tanks)

So is mine the two nuts are on the outside of the frame and easy to get to. I hate how hard that brackwet holds onto the filter. Man I have pinched some fingers in the past.
