97 ranger 4.0 ac hose replace
I need to change the hose assembly. It runs between the back of the motor & fire-wall. It's a kinda tight space. I'm curious if the hose assm will come out from behind the motor with out taken the intake off. It looks like I may be able to feed it through between the fire-wall & the motor. Anyone have exp changing the hose assembly? 97 4.0

I'm pretty sure you should not have to remove engine parts to change the AC suction or high side lines. The both have a 'spring-lock' connector where they attach to the evaporator. The suction line would have an accumulator, a cylinder about 4-5" in diameter directly after exiting the evaporator. The high side would be metal for part of its length, leading from the condenser.
Can't think of a hose from the firewall direct to the backside of the engine unless it is a heater hose.
