Hey Everyone,
My 1988 F-150 351W with factory air has a leak on the hose assembly, drivers side, right where the fitting is. It leaks around the edge where the fitting sticks up from the actual hose. I have found AC DELCO part 1531389, however I was told that it is only the rubber hose, and not all the metal fittings. Is this true? I didn't know the rubber hose could come off the metal for replacement.
Yeah, the freon is long gone. It was actually converted to R134a a few years ago, but now its leaking again. I just am not sure if that part is the entire assembly or not. Rockauto's website says if the picture has some of the parts in white or clear, that they are not part of the product you are buying. I just don't see how that hose can be sold without the entire assembly. I would think that that whole unit is replaced at once, and that the individual hoses cannot be replaced on there own. Am I wrong in that assumption, or what???
Got a hold of AC Delco, just in case anyone was wondering. That part number if for the WHOLE metal assembly that bolts to the top of the compressor, including the long hose going to the other side of the engine and the short one going to the condensor unit up front.
Just wanted to let anyone know who may be interested.
