so i was at a bbq and met a guy that has pulled trucks for 20+ years... he was looking at my truck ,said he liked it!! talking performance on his pulling trucks and so on.... then i said i thought i lost some low end power when i put on my straight pipe and was thinking of a muffler, and he says i will get every bit of my power back and then some if i do an "open"air filter such as a k&n cold air intake........ any thoughts????
Really? I have an AFE Cold Air Intake System I will trade you straight across for your factory setup.... and I have 3 filters for it!
I got sucked into that crap in 2005 when I bought my truck and jumped on the cold air intake band-wagon as well. Then I did some reading and found out the factory system flows more than enough and protects the engine better. I wish I had not thrown away the stock filtration assembly cuz I would have sold this aftermarket one.
Stay with stock unless you plan on 500+ hp. Nothing is proven better in the 500 under hp range and nothing filters equivelant in that range. Don't believe the sales hype.
i got an mrbp 4" straight...... i just notice that pulling the camper it shifts a little different, as in i find myself pulling allitle faster to keep the rpm up
