Oil pressure question

I know that the oil pressure gauge is a glorified idiot light, but I noticed it fluctuating a bit the other day. Only a few hundred miles on fresh oil and I don't have a to get live data. Any cause for concern? Truck is running awesome, it loves the T6 full synthetic.

Live data wouldn't help you, since it's a simple analog signal that doesn't go thru the PCM. Does the fluctuation stop when you rev it up? Does it happen right away or only when it warms up?

Does the needle tick between 0 and the middle of the range or just twitch around in the middle?

Haven't noticed it cold, but definitely at temp. It just flickers a bit in the middle.

Clean the connection on the sending unit. It's on top of the hpop res.

Ok. I'll clean it and put a little dielectric grease in there.

I first bought my truck and went to drive it home to michigan. The oil gauge bounced the whole way. 16 hours of bouncing. I was worried my truck was gonna explode.

What did you do to fix yours?

I pulled the connector off and cleaned it.
I noticed that the sending unit likes to corrode no matter what you put on it, so I just hit it with an SOS pad every now and then, and I reamed out the connector with a small file, then pinched it with pliers so it connects better.
